BAZfest is no ordinary film weekend – it’s a spectacular, town-wide transformation celebrating the dazzling, theatrical, and utterly fabulous world of Baz Luhrmann. Over three unforgettable days, Mount Victoria becomes the stage for Baz’s legendary Red Curtain Trilogy: Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet, and Moulin Rouge!.
This isn’t just a festival, it’s a movie set. It’s an immersive celebration of cinema, fashion, music, food, and community spirit. We’re inviting every shop, business, performer, artist, and local to step into the spotlight and join us for a cheeky, glittering, heart-thumping weekend of joy.
What's Happening
Feature Film Screenings @ Mount Vic Flicks
Each day we screen one of the Red Curtain Trilogy masterpieces, complete with themed pre-show entertainment and audience dress-ups:
- Friday: Moulin Rouge! – Feathers, corsets, and bohemian cabaret.
- Saturday: Strictly Ballroom – Mirror balls, fringe, and fierce dance battles.
- Sunday: Romeo + Juliet – Verona vibes, neon angels, and balcony scenes.
